I hope you have read my previous article about my first day of trip to Purandar fort, Sajjangad Fort and Kass Plateau. I have written about how we travel up to Purandar fort, places to see on Purandar fort and how we manage to get a room to spend a night in Satara City.
On our second day of trip, Kass Plateau was the place first in our wish list. Kass Plateau is a place surface on top of mountain surrounding Satara City. It is a place where you can enormous types of flowers, which are grown naturally in a unique pattern. We wake up so early in morning around at 4:30. After taking our bath we leaved from our hotel room. From Satara City, Kaas Plateau is around 25 Km away. It was around 6 am and weather was so charming and fresh. I have written in my previous article that Dhiraj did not allow me to ride bike in entire journey, but on this fresh morning I forced him to allow me to ride and fortunately he agreed for it. It was really an awesome and unforgettable bike riding experience. There was no any traffic on road. Cool breathing air, sunrays, and lovely greenery were just increasing my happiness of bike riding. As I get closer to Kaas plateau it felt like a shooting location of any romantic movie of Yash Chopra.
FLOWERS AT KASS PLATEAU
It was really a great but little bit disappointed experience of visiting Kaas Plateau. Some of the local villagers told us that it was not the ideal time to visit Kaas Plateau. We should visit here after the end of rainy season but we were there around the middle of winter. That is why there were not so many types of flowers to see as we were expecting. But still it was really a lovely experience and we noticed so many unseen flowers. I just love the surrounding weather, greenery. I would definitely love to be at Kaas Plateau again and I will be there at perfect season. We clicked some snaps of flowers and surrounding nature and leaved from Kass Plateau. We also visited Koyana backwater dam and a very beautiful Bamnoli village. It was overall a lovely experience of enjoying unspoiled beauty of nature.
KOYANA BACKWATER DAM
From Kaas Plateau and Bamnoli village we came back to Satara City. It was almost our lunchtime so we took our lunch at one of the restaurants in the city. After lunch it was around 2PM so we were thinking about whether we should visit Sajjangad Fort or not as we have to ride almost around 150KM to return home. From our group of four friends, me, Prashant and Harish had been to Sajjangad fort before but Dhiraj had never been here yet. So we decided to go for a short visit to Sajjangad fort. So it was my second visit here. Sajjangad fort is a lovely historical and spiritual fort and I also have written an article before about it.
From Satara City we reached at Sajjangad fort within half an hour and this time also Dhiraj gave me chance to ride bike. I always love to visit Sajjangad fort as there is a huge well-built temple of lord Rama and it was living place of Saint Ramdas. It is very easy to reach on the top of the fort. You can take your vehicle up to the middle of the mountain and by climbing some easy steps you can reach on the top. It is a best family tourist destination as it is safe and easy for kids and elder persons as well. We visited to the temple and many other spots on the fort. We clicked some snaps and get down moving back to home. This time I missed tasty wheat Khir at Sajjangad fort.
It was around 6 Pm when we came back to Satara City to return back to home. As I am not quite used to of night driving so Dhiraj rode my bike and this time I did not argue with him to give me chance to ride. We had to ride around 150 Km and we reached home at around 9:30. It was really a lovely two days trip. Due to the lack of time we could not visit the Vajragad Fort, which is close to Purandar, and we visit Kass plateau also on wrong season, so I would love to be at these places once again if I get chance in future.
